Veterans Service

The county Veterans Service Office assists veterans and their dependents in obtaining information about any V.A. benefits that they may be interested in and also assist them in working up the applications and obtaining the needed supporting documents. The county Veterans Service Office also assist veterans in making application to have their eligibility determine for treatment in a VA Medical Center.

  • The American Legion

These accreditations are obtained by completing a 40-hour training seminar with the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers and then being accepted for accreditation with each of the listed service organizations.  These accreditations allow the County Veteran Service Officer to access a veteran’s files within the VA system provided the veteran has given power of attorney to one of the listed Veteran’s Associations.  To maintain the accreditation’s the Veteran Service Officer must complete a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education every year
